Dale and Valley Homes, is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) established by Wear Valley District Council.
The company took responsibility for the management of Wear Valley District Council’s homes in April 2006.
We are 100% owned by the Council and are a ‘not for profit’ organisation, dedicated to providing quality housing management services and improving our customers homes to meet the Decent Homes Standard by 2011.
Dale and Valley Homes will achieve this standard with the help of an extra £26m of funding, which was released when its service achieved a 2 stars rating by the Audit Commission in March 2007.

Strike Action 16th and 17th July
Due to the strike action by UNISON members that is taking place on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th July only the Civic Centre will be open to the public. However, a very limited service will be provided there.

Choice Based Lettings - Durham Key Options
The way Dale and Valley Homes lets properties is targeted to change around April 2009. We are working in partnership with other County Durham landlords to let our properties through Choice Based Lettings. We want to keep you informed and have now published our first Durham Key Options Newsletter.

Asbestos advice to customers
Dale and Valley Homes is an Arms Length Organisation set up by Wear Valley Council to manage the council stock in Wear Valley. As your landlord we have a responsibility to provide information about your home and how to remain safe in your property. As part of this responsibility we have produced advice about Asbestos, telling you what it is and what to do if any asbestos is present in your home.
