Rent: Outline
Dale & Valley Homes needs its tenants to pay their rent on time to help maintain the many services it provides. If rent arrears increase there is a knock-on effect for the services that our customers receive. For that reason it is critical that rent arrears levels are kept to a minimum.
A letter will be sent to customers at least 28 days before the beginning of each financial year (April) telling them what the rent charges are for the following financial year.
Rent is due over 49 weeks of the year. The remaining 3 weeks of the year are free. These weeks will normally be the first week in April and Christmas and New Year. Details will be shown on your rent increase notification sheet.
If you are in arrears you must continue making payments during these weeks to help pay off your arrears. You must pay your rent every week. We may allow you to pay every two weeks, or at any other interval that we agree in writing. Payments that are not made weekly should be made in advance.
