Housing Options Team: Outline
In October 2009 Choice Based Lettings (CBL) was introduced to give people more of a say in where they want to live. We have therefore formed an new housing options team who are here to:
- ensure we relet all vacant properties quickly
- register new applicants onto the Durham Key Options lettings scheme
- advertise all available properties weekly on the Durham Key Options website and in a dedicated property newsletter
- process all 'bids' or expressions of interest for advertised properties
- carry out property viewings with prospective customers
- ensure that all vulnerable customers can access the new lettings scheme
- deal with all enquiries about allocations and lettings
- advise and, where possible, visit all customers who wish to terminate their tenancy.
