Gas Leaks: Outline
If you smell gas you should telephone National Gas Emergency straight away. Their freephone number is 0800 111 999. They will deal with any report of gas escape free of charge.
We also advise you to:
- turn off the gas supply near the gas meter
- put out any flames
- do not use or operate any electrical appliances or devices (including lights or switches)
- let air into the property- open windows and doors
