Illegal Money Lending: Outline
A loan shark is someone who lends money illegally, without a licence and charges rates of repayment rate that are extortionate. To obtain the money they are owed they may use violence and intimidation.

This team has been specially formed to combat illegal money lending throughout the North East.
The team investigates complaints, support victims, provides access to free money advice and they make every effort to remove loan sharks from our communities.
A loan shark's debt is illegal so you may not have to repay the loan.
