About Changes to a tenancy
Requests for tenancy changes can occur for several reasons including:

the sole tenant dies and a member of their family wants to take over the tenancy.
- a sole tenant wants to create a joint tenancy - normally with their partner who may have moved into the property after the tenancy first started.
- a joint tenancy needs to be converted into a sole tenancy - for example when one of the tenants has either died or moved out of the property.

the tenant has changed their surname following marriage or divorce, or by deed poll.
The above circumstances do not cover all possibilities and there may be other reasons why changes to tenancies may occur. In all cases the person wishing to change a tenancy must contact their neighbourhood officer for further information and to complete any relevant paperwork.
