Repairs Advice

Keeping our properties in a good state of repair is one of our most important tasks. We have a legal responsibility to our customers to keep their homes in a reasonable state of repair.

At present we have around 4,300 properties and a budget of £3 million to look after them.

Repairs and maintenance are split into two areas; day-to-day repairs (which we call responsive repairs) and planned or programmed maintenance, (which we can plan in advance).

Day to day repairs covers items customers report to us on a daily basis, and includes emergencies, urgent and routine repairs which these are carried out on our behalf by Gentoo Construction. It also includes all gas repairs and servicing which is carried out on our behalf by Durham County Councils' workforce.

Our contractors employ competent workmen and associated administration staff to carry out our work.
