Rechargeable Repairs

Some types of repair are your responsibility. You can carry them out yourself or we may do them for you and charge for the work.

The types of repair customers are responsible for include accidental damage and damage caused by misuse or neglect. We call these rechargeable repairs.  

Examples of rechargeable repairs also include:

• where a structure, fitting or decoration that was not authorised by Dale & Valley Homes must be removed

• any replacement/repair is required except one caused through normal wear and tear

• the damage is caused by vandalism

• an unauthorised alteration or improvement has been returned to its original state 

Customers will also be charged for the following

• callouts made to DVH gas engineers to re-light pilots lights when having no credit on the gas meter is the cause of this

• when you have asked for an emergency repair or a callout and the tradesperson cannot gain entry to the property,

• when you have called for an emergency repair but the person attending finds it is not an emergency.
