About Tenants Improvements
As a tenant of Dale & Valley Homes you must not carry out alterations or additions either inside or outside your home without first obtaining our written permission.
Introductory tenants have no rights to make alterations, additions or improvements to their home.
Please be aware if you carry out any home improvements without written permission from Dale & Valley Homes you maybe in breach of your tenancy agreement, which could result in legal action being taken against you and you will be charged to correct any work done.
We may refuse permission if there is a good reason and will tell you why.
We may give permission, but subject to some conditions which will be stated in a letter of approval. Please be aware that some requests can be subject to Durham Councty Council planning or building regulations approval (fees may apply). You will be made aware of this in your approval letter.

- removing walls
- drive ways
- externally painting the property
- heating replacements
- kitchen replacement
- bathroom replacement
- showers
- window and door replacement
- patio doors
- internal doors
- brick, stone or other fireplaces
- laminate flooring
- CB radio aerial
- TV aerial
- satelilite equipment
