External window and door replacement
Final Properties now completed
Dale & Valley Homes previously made a commitment to replace all external timber windows & doors by the end of 2009.
In partnership with our contractor, Esh Property Services, the last phase of the programme has now been completed.
As well as modernising the appearance of the homes, new windows and doors mean better security and energy savings for customers.
Dale & Valley Homes has installed high performance 'Secure by design' doors fitted with multipoint locking systems and double-glazing as standard.
Windows were also replaced with 'Secure by design' PVCu frames, complete with energy efficient double glazed units and security handles as standard.
The Energy Savings Trust advises that double glazing cuts the heat lost through windows by half, and installing energy saving double glazing can save around £110 a year on heating bills. Double glazing can also save a household around 720kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year.
