Neighbourhoods Directorate

The neighbourhoods directorate is a new directorate formed in May 2011 which combines the former Housing Operations and Property Services Directorates.

The neighbourhoods directorate is responsible for the delivery of all housing management services to our customers; providing support for our more vulnerable management; ensuring our neighbourhoods are a pleasant place to live; delivering the decent homes programme and improving and repairing our customer's homes.

The areas covered by the directorate are:

• Housing income management - including the collection of rent, the recovery of rent arrears,  the promotion of financial inclusion and debt prevention;
• Tenancy and estate management - including customers and customers of the Tenancy Agreement, providing advice and support to customers, undertaking estate inspections and taking care of our neighbourhoods;
• Allocations and lettings, including the letting of properties to our customers;
• Helping vulnerable management sustain their tenancy -  helping our new and more vulnerable customers settle into their home and successfully manage their tenancy;
• Delivering the Decent Homes programme to improve our customers' homes;
• Repairing and maintaining our management' homes; 
• Aids and adaptations to help customers with a physical disability remain in their own home;  
• Asset management; 
• Customer Access to services; and
• Environmental management of our neighbourhoods.
