Development Directorate

The development directorate is a new directorate formed in April 2011 to focus on new development, procurement, facilities management and the potential for business growth with the main duties being:

• Project Management of the County Councils new build schemes and those that are resourced from the County Councils regeneration budgets;
• Procurement;
• Insurances;
• Facilities Management;
• New Business Development;
• Embed procurement efficiencies across directorates; and
• Maximise grants especially those for renewable energy measures.

It is a small directorate but key to the delivery of the objectives set out in the business plan. It is essential that the new build schemes are delivered within programme and on budget to demonstrate to the County Council that we have the skills in house necessary to deliver new build schemes. It is also essential that efficiencies are made across the company, making staff aware of procurement routes where savings can be made.
