Applying for Aids and Adaptations
How can I request an adaptation?
To request an Aid & Adaptation to your property, you will need to contact Social Care Direct on 0845 850 5010.
After your details have been taken and your request logged, an Occupational Therapist will carry out an assessment of you in your home. If an Adaptation is required, they will refer this to us for us to carry out the works.
With most
major adaptations, a Building Surveyor will visit your home to assess the
technical aspect of the works required before this is passed to our contractor.
We will make an appointment for this visit.
In some cases, a joint feasibility visit may be required to see if the works are possible. If your property cannot be adapted to meet your needs, re-housing can be considered. In this instance, your application would be prioritised for an appropriate property in accordance with our Lettings Policy.
Your application will be added to a waiting list. Works are carried out in date order unless an application is identified as Urgent Priority. This will require the authority of the Principal Occupational Therapist.
If you
require any further information on Aids & Adaptations, please contact us on Freephone 0800 0830 333 or if using a mobile 0300 2000 194.
