Residents see the future
Residents of Greenside Place and Park Avenue Close in Crook have been to see the design of flats they will be moving to.
The residents were taken by Housing Managers Dale & Valley Homes and developers Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) to see apartments of a similar design to those that will be built at Park Avenue Close. They were invited to look at the flats at Beckwith Mews in Silksworth and talk to representatives of FHM about what will be built in Crook. George Moses from Park Avenue Close said: "It will be much better. At the moment our bath room is very small and the kitchen is very small." Neighbour John Thompson added: "This is really nice. We have got a good idea of what it's going to be like." Pat Wanless, director of housing operations for Dale & Valley Homes, said: "We wanted to give the people who will be moving into the new apartments an idea of what their homes will be like. It was also a chance for them to tell us what facilities they would like to have so we can incorporate that into the design. "The new apartments will have two bedrooms and will be designed for people to remain in their homes as they get older, with everything being wheelchair accessible. "I think those who joined us on the visit found it helpful and interesting."
Have your say
Residents of Greenside Place in Crook and other local people are being invited to help design a housing scheme to replace the flats.
